10 Tips for Providing Great Customer Service to Your Clients

The way your customers feel towards you is important. The more you show you care about them, the more they’ll likely want to continue working with you. With that in mind, providing one call services testimonials to your clients should naturally be a major priority in your day-to-day schedule. This article lists tips and suggestions for ensuring that you’re treating your clients well.

1. Respond to Clients as Soon as Possible

Speed is everything, especially when a client is requesting something that’s time-sensitive. Try to reply to your clients as soon as you can. Procrastinating on a response to a client’s email, phone call or voicemail doesn’t help anyone; you’re going to have to reply eventually, so why not do it as soon as possible? Avoid that "mark as unread" button in your email client.

Even if you can’t work on the task they’re requesting you to accomplish right away, at least let them know you got their request and then supply them with a timeline of when you’re able to get the task completed. If you can’t find the time to perform the task, it will be considerate of you to let them know as soon as possible so that they can make alternative arrangements.

2. Keep Clients Updated

Feeling like you’re lost and that you don’t know what’s going on is one of the worst situations you can be in when you hire someone. Even if you don’t have anything major to report, you can still let your employer know what you’re working on and how things are progressing. Are you on track on milestones? Did you find something that might become an issue later on? Status updates give clients reinforcements that they’re involved in the project.

If you’re experiencing trouble with something, let them know right away. It shows that you’re keeping them in the loop and that you have things under control. If it’s something major, communicating your concern right away allows clients to plan for possible delays in the project’s completion.

3. Go the Extra Mile

If a client asks for you to do something that truly won’t cost you a lot in time and income, you have the option of going the extra mile and doing it for them. Not only will this result in an indebted and happy client, it can also go a long way in terms of keeping yourself in their radar for future projects.

4. Fix Your Mistakes

If you did something that didn’t end up working, you should repair it. A quick way to lose a client forever is not admitting that you are at fault and not fixing your own mistakes. You should always strive for a high-quality output; it shows that you have a high level of standards in your craftsmanship.

Not taking responsibility of your own blunders is a sure-fire way of gaining a bad business reputation. Transparency is important in any business; service work is no different.

5. Listen to Your Clients

It’s important to listen to what your clients are communicating to you. Like, reallylisten. Understand what they are saying and ask for clarifications on things that might be ambiguous. Clients might be unfamiliar with certain terminologies in our profession, and what you think they mean might be different to what they actually mean. For example, they might be saying "pop-up window," which we know to be annoying HTML browser windows opened using JavaScript, but what they really want is a modal window (often called a Lightbox window).

Listen to what their needs are, and then offer your suggestion on the best way to go about fulfilling their needs.

6. Keep Your Promises

If you say you’re going to do something, make sure you do it. It’s part of being a professional. If you need more time on something, you should let them know as soon as possible, not after you’ve already missed the deadline. Honoring your commitments is very important.

7. Don’t Confuse Clients with Jargon

Try to explain whatever the problem is as best as you can without making the client feel stupid. When proposing a solution, make sure you state it in terms they understand. You could use analogies that are relevant to them. Read more about how to talk to clients effectively as well as how to get your ideas across to clients.

8. Be Patient

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve exhausted my patience on my clients. But I’ve never actually showed them my agitation. If you feel like the client is overstepping their boundaries, let them know in a cordial and professional manner. You just don’t want to start yelling and cursing at the people you make a living off of. Maintain professionalism at all times.

9. Know Everything You Need to Know

You are a paid expert. Someone is giving you their hard-earned money to do something they believe you have a high level of mastery of. You need to keep yourself up-to-date with the profession and always be ready to answer questions your client needs to know. If you exhibit signs that you don’t know your craft inside out, you risk the chance of ruining your professional reputation.

10. Put Yourself in Their Shoes

If you were in their shoes and were being treated the way you’re treating them, would you enjoy that experience? If so, you’re doing a good job. If not, you probably want to get a little better. It’s important to constantly evaluate the way you communicate with others. Our profession is heavily reliant on communication skills.

How to Make Metal Wall Art Picture Frames

Metal wall art is becoming more common and popular, as it is edgy, modern and handcrafted with great care. Metal wall art generally hangs on a wall by itself with no border or perimeter to depict the end of the piece. In other words, metal wall art has a tendency to appear as though it continues. This can create a great effect for a room. Another way to use metal wall art is as a frame for another piece of art, like a painting. The two styles will play off each other in a way that is special, as each piece will accentuate the other piece. Using metal wall art as a frame for other art pieces is not hard to do, and you can do it on your own. The following article will show you how it is done.

Step 1 – Sizing

You want your metal wall art frame to accent the art and not overpower it. Take down the measurements of the piece of art to be framed. Determine how much space you want between the art to the metal wall art frame. Large pieces look better with a tighter frame; the opposite is also true for smaller pieces. Once you've determined the spacing, lightly pencil a line around the art piece. This will be a guide for the Metal Picture Art. Use these measurements to select suitable metal wall art pieces. Choose four pieces of metal wall art that are identical in size and are as close to the measurements you took. You need four pieces, as you need one piece for each side. If the art you are framing is not perfectly square, you will need to take that into consideration.

Step 2 – Pilot Holes

Hanging metal wall art is a different task than hanging traditional art pieces due to its weight and size. Since you drew a frame in pencil around the artwork, it makes it easier to hang the metal pieces. Use a drill to create holes through the metal wall art. Make at least two holes with one at the top and the other at the bottom. If the piece is very heavy, then make several more holes so that the piece is properly supported. Hold the piece to the wall so that it is centered over the pencil line, and use the holes you made as a guide along that line. Put the piece down and create pilot holes in the wall. Erase any pencil marks you made so that it is clean.

Step 3 - Install the Metal Wall Art

Due to the weight of the metal, tap anchors into the pilot holes with a hammer. Place one of the metal wall art pieces on the wall and line up the holes. Insert a screw and tighten it. Repeat with each hole you made and each metal piece. The screws grip the anchor, which, in turn, grip the wall to secure the metal wall art in place.

West Brom vs Southampton Live Stream: Watch Free Online English Premier League

West Brom have made a solid start to the English Premier League this season and could go as high as fifth if they beat strugglers Southampton in the Monday night game of the EPL Live Streaming.

The Baggies lie in ninth place on 14 points from nine games, and could go above Tottenham, if they beat Southampton by a decent margin -- a win will at least take them above Arsenal to sixth place.

West Brom, despite the strong start, have lost their last two matches - narrow 2-1 defeats to Newcastle United and Manchester City - and manager Steve Clarke is determined to set things right against the Saints.

"The lads have had that feeling when you sit in the dressing room, know you have played really well and not had your reward for it," he said. "We've had that two weeks in a row now and we look forward to Monday night so we can try and put it right.

"It feels like a bad run because we've had no points from the last two games but the performances in both games were really good. That's the message I've tried to give the players that if you continue to play like that and the performances are good, then the results will follow."

"We've played teams near the bottom in Reading and QPR so we understand the type of game it can be. Southampton are going to be coming here trying to kick-start their season. They've had some good performances. I've watched them a couple of times this year.

"They play good football, they are dangerous, they will get a lot of respect from us, but it's a chance for us to get three points."

Southampton lie rock bottom on four points from nine games, but can count themselves a little unlucky, having conceded a pile of late goals which have seen them lie in this precarious position. "We've come a hell of a long way in a short space of time," manager Nigel Adkins said. "It's often the case for a newly promoted side from a defensive point of view a lot more questions are asked about you when you move up, especially when you move up two divisions like we've done.

"There's a great vision here at Southampton and what we've got to do is make sure we keep on track with what we're doing and we need everybody to stick together.

"It's the top league in the world. So every team's going to be competitive -- every game's going to be hard. There's so much at stake for every game and we're well aware of that, we've got to take one game at a time, prepare diligently for the game, getting the players believing in themselves.

"It's going to be a good game. West Brom have got a good record at home -- are a good solid side defensively and very good on the counterattack. It's a challenge we embrace -- we've scored in all the games bar one and we've got Gaston Ramirez, our record summer signing, who trained well all week, and who should be involved on Monday night."
Along with Ramirez, who is in line for a return after missing five weeks of action due to a thigh injury, Tadanari Lee also could feature against West Brom. Defender Fraser Richardson and Jack Cork remain sidelined.

For West Brom, captain Chris Brunt and Billy Jones have recovered from their respective injuries and are in contention, while Shane Long and Claudio Yacob - both with hamstring injuries - could also be available.
Expected lineups: West Brom: Forster, Tamas, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Mulumbu, Brunt, Morrison, Gera, Odemwingie, Lukaku.

Southampton: Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Fox, Schneiderlin, Davis, Puncheon, Lallana, Ramirez, Lambert.

Prediction: 2-1 to Southampton

High Deductible Health Plan Rules

High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP)are popular due to their low premiums compared to other health insurance plans in the industry. This is great for individuals and families who do not use health insurance often, but the downside to this type of plan is the fact that they require a large out-of-pocket pay out before the insurance company kicks in. If you are looking into taking out a high deductible health insurance plan,be sure you look through the rules of how the plan works and that you set aside enough funding to cover the deductible.

What are the rules and stipulations with a high deductible health insurance plan?

To begin with for a health insurance plan to be considered a high deductible health insurance plan under the remit of the IRS, it needs to include a minimum deductible amount of at least $1,200 for a single person with the plan or $2,400 for cover for your family.

The maximum deductible and out-of-pocket expenses on an annual basis should not exceed $5,950 for single person claiming on the health insurance plan and $11,900 for coverage for the whole family. These totals do not include any deductibles or expenses raised for any out-of-network services.

Are there any other benefits to a high deductible health insurance plan?

Depending on the plan that you subscribe to, it could also include some preventative care benefits such as health evaluations, prenatal care and child immunizations. This is based under the IRS rules. To find out full benefits available it can be worth your while speaking to a high deductible health insurance plan specialist. There are many insurance specialists that are independent that will be able to analyse your circumstances to see which high deductible health insurance plan is most suitable for you and your family. By getting quotes online, you can often get the opportunity to speak with health insurance specialists.  It can be rather a minefield when it comes to insurance at the best of times so having an expert to guide you in this is imperative.

Can I get a high deductible health insurance plan through my employer?

Over the last few years employers and large corporations have took to providing their employees with health insurance, especially high deductible health insurance plans as a basic level of protection for their staff. It is predicted that in the United States the amount of companies offering this health insurance policy benefit will rise to 25% by 2014. AS we stand in 2012 that figure of companies is 17%. So as you can see it is high on the agenda for companies in the United States to have some responsibility to protect their employees.

If you are shopping around for a high deductible catastrophic health insurance plan, then it is essential that you check with your employer first to see if they offer one if you are currently working. If they do offer one then often employee health plans are more desirable than one obtained on the open market.  Why?  Companies can negotiate better deals for their staff as they are essentially spending more money with these insurance companies. Just make sure that you do your homework before you take the plunge.

Fifteen top music promotion tips

Fifteen free music promotion tips

1. Give it away: You'll have to give your music away at the start. Put MP3s on your website or at least have the facility to hear whole songs. People won't buy CDs or downloads unless they have a clear idea of what to expect from them. The thing about posting samples is that people will play them once, think 'that's nice' and move on. People will download MP3s and listen to them frequently if they're a good match for their taste. These are the listeners most likely to become customers. There is no way - in this world, or the next - that a new act will sell CDs on the basis of lyrics and photographs.

2. Get your MP3 tags right: If people rediscover your MP3 in their iPod or hard drive months later, make sure they can still track you down. Make sure your artist name and song name appear in the appropriate tags of the MP3, and put your website address in for the album name. Try to put your website address in the filename too.

3. Get into a box: We all like to think we're special and unique, but that's a hard sell. Don't be afraid to put your music into an appropriate category (rock, pop, folk, electronica etc) and to spread it far and wide all over the web through distribution websites. These are good at pointing listeners in the right direction when they're looking for something new.

4. Have your own website: While community sites play their part, it's easy to get lost in a vast catalogue. Build your own website, promote it and attract a following. Buy your own domain name too - when MP3.com changed ownership, lots of bands saw their online presence vanish overnight. They had no claim to the website hosted by MP3.com they had spent years promoting. If you've got your own domain name, you can always change where it points to later, and keep ownership of the incoming visitors.

5. Have a story: When people arrive at your website, you've still got to encourage them to stick around to listen to some music. Think about what your angle is. What do you write about? What kind of mood do you create? Why are you different?

6. Solicit testimonials: Ask your customers to write reviews of your music. Get them to post reviews on the community sites that accept reviews and ratings, and put reviews on your own site. If you get press coverage, use it! It adds credibility to your website.

7. Build a community: People will keep coming back to your site if they can meet like-minded people there and talk to them.

8. Be business-like: Whether you want listeners to pay you directly or a major label to shovel money your way, you're being paid for a service. So attend to enquiries promptly and maintain good relations with your customers. It's easier to sell a second album to people who bought the first than it is to find a whole new audience for the new album. Think of ways to delight your listeners: offer a 14 day guarantee on CDs to stimulate sales (the EU distance selling directive grants this to online shoppers anyway) and send fans a new MP3 on their birthdays.

9. Take control: Don't wait for success to happen to you. Build an audience. Whether that's a substantial mailing list, email list or gig audience, it doesn't matter. As long as it's people who have asked to hear from you and are likely to buy your album, it's a valuable asset. The best way to grab a record company's attention is by becoming successful independently.

10. Gig: If you're in the business of gigging, put information for people who might want to book you on your website. Publish the kinds of events you're happy to play and provide a phone number for more information. Again, be business-like.

11. Keep it simple: music marketing has a lot to do with image, but some websites put this before the music. Don't forget people are there to read about you, listen to your work, see your photos and interact with you. They're not usually there to watch a 5 minute animation before they can do any of that. The easier your site is to use, the more likely it is to sell music. Simplicity pays.

12. Make it easy to pay you: Take cash at gigs and in local record shops, cheques by post, credit cards online. How easy can you make it for customers to buy your album?

13. Network: If you're trying to get the attention of music journalists and record labels, the best way to do this is by getting a personal introduction. Meet people at concerts, industry events and through fan events for similar bands.

14. Recognise taste: Not everyone will like your music, so concentrate your energy on finding those who will. This applies to listeners, journalists and record labels equally.

15. Educate yourself: You might find my book Small Business Websites That Work useful in planning, setting up and operating your online business. If you don't take your band's website seriously as a business opportunity, it's always going to remain a hobby.

What is the 2012 IRS Rate for Mileage?

·         55.5 cents for every business mile
·         23 cents for every medical or moving mile
·         14 cents for every charitable service mile

Above are the 2012 IRS mileage rates for the three categories of miles driven. Depending on what type of trip your IRS mileage varies.

So it’s vital that when you log your mileage you specify the type of driving in order to be as accurate as possible during the filing process.
In terms of accessing moving mileage, most online software will ask for the zip codes for each location (from A to B) and then calculate the mileage for you.
TurboTax Online or C/D Download can help you prepare your return and make sure you note your mileage in the proper places. When considering this, you have the option of taking the actual cost of your vehicle or the IRS standard mileage rate:
The IRS Standard Mileages Rates for 2012;
January 1st to June 30th

·         51 cents for every business mile
·         19 cents for every medical or moving mile
·         14 cents for every charitable service mile

July 1st to December 31st

·         5.5 cents for every business mile
·         23.5 cents for every medical or moving mile
·         14 cents for every charitable service mile

In some cases you can also deduct the cost of parking and tolls while using the vehicle for any of the standard deduction purposes. So if you acquired tolls or parking fees while on business, medical, moving, or charity related trips then you can deduct those fees.

Rules & Exceptions:

·         Standard rate cannot be used for more than four vehicles at the same time or for hired vehicles.
·         The standard rate must be reduced by depreciation which s 22 cents per mile for 2011.

Remember, it’s always best to consult with a tax preparer or utilize online resources. Some tax credits and deductions only last a few years while others stay around a decade or more while seeing year-to-year tweaks in their rules.

Health Insurance for Small Business Owners

America’s small business owners often feel that they are in a difficult situation when they seek health insurance for themselves and their employees. They are not in the same position as large businesses and corporations, which receive cost breaks in providing health insurance for their workers. In fact, when a small business and a large business purchase the same coverage plan, the small business pays an average of 18 percent more.

Small business owners also understand the importance of finding insurance for themselves, their families, and the people they employ. High-quality, affordable health insurance for small business owners in the US is not out of reach; these business owners simply need to explore their best options before making this important decision. Small business owners should also be aware that under the Affordable Care Act of 2010, they may qualify for a tax credit that will counterbalance some of their health insurance costs.

Group Insurance
Group insurance remains one of the top options in health insurance for small business owners in the US. This is a type of insurance agreement in which a number of small groups are pooled together, essentially forming a large purchasing group. A group agreement reduces the insurance premium for each participating party by splitting the cost of the premium among all of the parties involved.

A number of states have mandated group insurance agreements as an option for small business owners, self-employed workers, and any other individuals who may be interested in such plans. Such states include New York, Texas, Ohio, Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Montana, and Wisconsin. Small business owners in states that do not have mandated group agreements can typically access group agreements that people in the private sector have established.

Reinsurance
A variety of insurance policies fall under the “reinsurance” umbrella. Reinsurance policies are all designed to offer lower premiums. They are meant to benefit small business owners, as well as individuals who are considered low-income. They usually offer cost relief in the form of subsidies or purchasing pools; however, some reinsurance policies transfer costs to third parties. These third parties include actual reinsurance carrier companies, reinsurance pools, and state governments. Unfortunately for many small business owners, not every state offers reinsurance programs. States that do offer such programs include New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Idaho, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Health Savings Accounts
Health savings accounts (HSAs) became an insurance option for small business owners in 2003, when President George W. Bush signed them into law. They are a unique combination of a high-deductible insurance policy and a savings account. The money in a health savings account is non-taxable and can only be used for medical expenses.

Small business owners can contribute money to their employees’ HSAs at their own discretion. In some cases, employees are completely responsible for the savings portion of their HSAs; in other cases, employees’ savings accounts consist of contributions from the individual employee and his or her employer. Regardless of how a much a small business owner contributes to his or her employees’ HSAs, the HSA option reduces the owner’s insurance costs and allows employees to set money aside for medical costs they may face in the future.

What is the Average Cost of Health Insurance in New Jersey?

New Jersey is certainly on the expensive side when it comes to any form of insurance. In terms of health insurance, New Jersey ranked as the 16th most expensive state in the country, with the average family paying nearly $13,000 to have everyone covered, whether it was through a private insurer, or under employee sponsored health plans.

If we start to look at those numbers on a smaller scale, New Jersey has the 5th highest small business health insurance rates. But if you’re looking for health insurance, and want to know what the average cost of health insurance in New Jersey would be for you, then you need to narrow things down a bit.

If you’re Single

If you’re single and a young adult (under 30), then you can qualify for insurance plans that run you about $300 per month, or $3,600 per year. Since there’s no one else that needs to be covered, you actually save a little bit of money.

If You Need To Insure Your Family

If you’ve got a family and that needs health insurance in New Jersey, you’ll find that on average, New Jersey households pay about $2,000 for coverage. Since the parents are generally older, there is slightly more risk involved in insuring them.

More on Small Business and Individual Health Insurance

There are some federally run programs that offer less expensive options to individuals and small businesses. With the passing of federal health insurance reform, you can now purchase medical insurance through either privately operated exchanges, or through the Federal Health Insurance Clearinghouse.

Other Options

Those who can’t afford the average price of health insurance in New Jersey could also consider non-insurance options like a health savings account (HAS) or a flexible spending account (FSA), which can help you save up for the costs of your medical bills.

If you need health insurance, it’s certainly important to shop around. Affordable individual health insurance could be a little more difficult to find. Unfortunately, there are only eight health insurance companies that offer individual coverage, simply due to laws that have been put in place by New Jersey.
